District Strategic Plan

To address the rapid growth of the Kearney R-1 School District, the board of education utilizes strategic planning to help prepare for the present and future needs of the district. With the help of a strategic planning model, staff members, patrons and taxpayers of the district work together to set goals and make a plan for action. Strategic planning has helped the district build new facilities, improve academics and transition to a K-5 school format. The district is in the process of updating its current strategic plan, which should be complete next year. The Board of Education identified goals last summer and action committees will work together to determine specific projects to include in the updated strategic plan.
