Junior High Band

Welcome to Kearney Junior High Band Proram! We are looking forward to a great school year. The purpose of this handbook is to provide parents and students with integral knowledge about the coming year in band. You are encouraged to familiarize yourself with the policies and dates contained herein.

As a reminder, one very important aspect of being in the band program is the personal responsibility expected from each student. Included among the many benefits one reaps from instrumental music are life skills such as communication, discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and enhanced self-esteem. The policies and procedures in this handbook have proven to be quite effective in successful band programs. We trust you will support these methods for continued success.

Every individual plays a very special and important role while contributing to the success of the bands here in Kearney. During your years in band, you will have the opportunity to audition for and participate in a variety of instrumental music groups. Kearney has a long tradition of excellence in instrumental music, so welcome to the exciting next step of being part of something great!

We are excited to have the honor of working with all of you. Parents or students should never hesitate to contact us with questions or concerns.
