Kearney Schools Send Help to OK Tornado Victims

"Send the Bus", sponsored by Durham School Services, collected donations for Moore, OK tornado victims last week. All of the Kearney R1 schools participated and gave more than expected. The Kearney High School Students donated over 1,600 items alone. Among making summer plans and studying for finals, the students rallied together for this meaningful act of kindness. The Jr. High and KHS put together helper crews to collect and load the school buses. Memorial Day weekend Cherly Gizler, Dorothy Tackett and Scott Watts, Durham school bus drivers, donated their time to drive three buses packed full of donations to Moore, OK. Thank you to all who were involved in donating and assisting the community of Moore, OK after this devastating event.
