Why Kearney

The district incorporated a K-5 format in its elementary schools this year and opened a new school, Dogwood Elementary, to accommodate the growing number of students in the district. There are a total of five K-5 schools, two junior high schools and one high school within the district, all of which comfortably accommodates the approximately 3,400 students in the district.

The Kearney R-1 School District provides both before and after school childcare for K-5 students to help give working caregivers peace of mind that their children are safe and in good hands.
